Upstream Learning Response to COVID-19
Upstream Learning Preschool has remained open during the COVID-19 crisis and has every intention to continue serving all of our families each day. Truly, it is a blessing for us to be able to open our doors for parents that must work to keep our community functioning during this time. However, due to the severity of the pandemic, we are currently utilizing protocols to keep all of our students, families, and teachers safe. Those protocols are listed below:
We continue to abide by the 99.6 temperature threshold; parents are keeping students home for 48 hours; in order to return, the child must be fever free for 48 with no meds
All classrooms are utilizing the TruSens Air Purifier/ UV Light System to kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria through air circulation
No person enters the building except for Upstream staff and students; parents are dropping off and picking up at the front door
Temperature checks are happening at drop off and 30 minutes following nap each day
All student nap items are provided by Upstream and washed with sanitizer to reduce the transfer of material home to school
All families are sending lunches Monday-Friday in disposable bags/ containers
No backpacks, lunchboxes, toys, blankets etc. are transitioning from school to home or vice versa
Every toy/ center/ bucket/ is sanitized directly after use before being utilized again
Hand-washing is an extremely high priority for all students and teachers as always
Hand sanitizer is available at drop off and pick up for family use and is required for all staff members for use between helping each family
Upstream Learning Preschool is a small and family-oriented center. Our classrooms are small and there is no risk of overfilling at any time causing your child to be unnecessarily exposed to any illness due to lack of space or too many children in one classroom.
In addition, our staff does an outstanding job of monitoring student handwashing, student interactions, and use of supplies to ensure that all health and safety procedures are being met.
Regular personal communication with our current parents through email, our Remind communication app, and in person is a top priority. We are blessed to have an amazing community of support at Upstream.
